Do You Fear The Bear or The Wolf?

Fear: an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or is a threat.
Now that we’ve defined it, let me also say this: I fear neither the bear nor the wolf.
Why?
Because I’ve learned something that changed my life—the bear and the wolf don’t live in my habitat.
Their power, their instincts, their presence… all very real. But guess what else is real? Where I choose to live.
I don’t wake up worrying about what the bear is doing on the mountain or if the wolf is pacing in the forest. That’s their space. That’s their assignment. Their natural instinct is tied to survival and protection in their environment—not mine.
See, I talk a lot about your ability to determine what happens next.
That power sits with you. Right now. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Now.
Let’s go deeper for a moment. I often chat about two seasons that one will encounter:
Depression is often rooted in things from the past—moments we’ve lived through, experienced, and may still need to process.
Anxiety, on the other hand, is often rooted in the future—in the uncertainty of the unknown, the “what ifs,” the “what’s next?”
But here’s the magic:
🟢 The past can’t hold you if you stay present.
🟢 The future won’t scare you if you stay present.
I base my strength, my peace, and yes—my superpower—on the “now.”
The present moment is where you win. It’s where you’re safe. It’s where you have clarity.
So no—I don’t fear the bear.
I don’t fear the wolf.
Because they don’t belong in my everyday life. And should I ever enter their habitat, I’ll come equipped. The same way I would if someone or something tried to enter mine.
This is not about denying the reality of danger. It’s about being present and prepared—not paralyzed by fear.
We don’t fear what’s not in our path. And when the path leads us near it?
We don’t flinch. We focus.
Let’s make this plain:
🏞️ If I step into the woods, I bring the tools.
🏡 If the wild enters my yard, I don’t run—I stand prepared.
Stay aware.
Stay grounded.
Stay present.
Because when you do, you realize the bear and the wolf were never the threat.
It was your belief that you weren’t strong enough to handle them.
And now you know better.
Stay grounded. Stay grateful.
And as always —
