Your Destination Includes a Stop

This week — myself included — I’ve had conversations with several people, and a theme kept surfacing like a flashing sign on life’s highway: “Your Destination Includes a Stop.”
That stop isn’t an accident. It’s not a delay designed to frustrate you. It’s a purposeful pause rooted in the truth that your journey isn’t just about you — sometimes, the drop in your destination is meant for someone else too.
We have to learn to embrace our pauses.
Our layovers.
Our headaches.
Our flat tires.
Our random encounters.
Our bus rides.
Our stranger conversations.
Our shifts — both in schedule and in mindset.
You get it.
Every one of these moments is a stop on the way to where you’re going. And those stops? They’re as much a part of the destination as the finish line itself.
See, we get so laser-focused on the goal — the sweet spot, the big win, the home run, the shiny new car, the benchmark we’ve been chasing — that we forget the road there has its own assignments. Sometimes that inconvenient delay is the exact place you’re supposed to pour into someone, receive a lesson, or gather the very thing you’ll need when you finally arrive.
So be mindful. Be equipped. Acknowledge that your destination will almost always include a stop before you reach it.
And the beauty? Those stops don’t steal from your arrival — they often make it richer, sweeter, and far more meaningful.
