There is something special about holding a story that once lived inside you.

Looking at these photos, I see my smile, the little boy on the cover, and a message I’m grateful to share: the sun is always waiting.

That is the heart of Sun After the Rain.

My journey has included homelessness, uncertainty, and moments when seeing beyond the circumstances in front of me was difficult. Today, I get to share that journey through a book created to encourage young readers and families.

The smile you see today has a story behind it. This book is an invitation to discover some of that story—and reflect on your own.

A Quick Read for the Whole Family

Sun After the Rain brings a message of hope, resilience, and growth to readers who are still finding their way. It is a quick read with room for meaningful conversations long after the last page.

Sometimes a conversation begins with a book. Sometimes that conversation helps someone find words for what they are feeling. That is one of my hopes for this story.

Beside the book in these photos is another message close to my heart: be kind to yourself, be kind to others, and remember that smiles are contagious.

Those words connect my work as an author, life coach, speaker, and host of the KYND Podcast. We all need encouragement. We all have opportunities to offer it.

We may not know the full story behind someone’s smile. A little kindness can give them space to share it.
